GENOA: Aquarium of Genoa, the statue of Christ of the Abyss, a bronze statue located on the bottom of Portofino, the house of Christofer Columbus, Palazzo Ducale and Doge’s apartments, the old port. Tasting of typical Genoese pesto and focaccia, sweetbread (the Genoese version of the cake).
PARMA: the city of music frequented by Giuseppe Verdi, the baths of Salsomaggiore Terme. Tasting of the Parmesan cheese and Parma ham.
MODENA: Palazzo Ducale and the “Ghirlandina”. Visit of the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. Tasting of traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena, gammon, and pork sausage from Modena, Lambrusco wine.
BOLOGNA: Piazza Maggiore and the Basilica of San Petronio, the “two towers”; tasting of Tortellini and fresh egg pasta, Mortadella Bologna IGP, and Grana Padano cheese.
FERRARA: the magnificent Castle of Este. Tasting of marinated eel of Comacchio.
RAVENNA: the city of mosaics. Basilica San Vitale, the church of S. Apollinaris, the Mausoleum of Theodoic.
